HOW THE STORY BEGAN

Our company’s founder, Soli Pardiwala, started the business in 1978 as President and sole employee. 

After immigrating to Canada with his young family in the early 1970’s, he joined a local paint manufacturer in Toronto as their General Manager. His customers worked on new builds and subdivisions. He soon realized that along with the paint they needed paint brushes and other supplies too … and this eventually lead to Anchor Tools humble beginnings.

The garage of his home was converted into a makeshift warehouse, with shelves built to stock Simms brushes. He then expanded to different product lines and new suppliers including DAP, Corona and more. The garage would no longer suffice. He acquired an independent warehouse space and since then has relocated a few times to allow for growth and expansion.  Today, Anchor Tools distributes hundreds of products for over 30 different manufacturers.

Soli started Anchor Tools on his own but it has always been a family business in every sense.  

After a long and successful career in Nursing, his wife Perin retired and joined him at Anchor Tools. She was an impeccable Office Manager and bookkeeper with a strong eye to detail and a keen sense of organization. Eventually, after having careers of their own his three daughters, Zena, Shehnaz and Tanaz joined the business and now serve as Co-owners, proudly carrying their parents’ legacy forward.
